The number three greatest game would also not be a NHL game, but it would have to be the one I recently saw in Erie, PA as the OHL Otters took on the Saginaw Spirit.
Now, just going to the game was going to be a lot of luck as my dad and I were just up in the area to spend the afternoon together. He is not a hockey fan like me, so it took quite the creative argument for him to even agree to sit through the game. Eventually, he agreed.
The game was a little lopsided, but it also had it's compelling story to tell. I wrote about the game here on the primary blog. I definitely want to go back and go to another one next year.
I was able to get some great memorabilia and was able to add to my hockey jersey collection by buying up an Erie Otters third jersey. Of course, I didn't want my dad to know just how much I spent or that I even bought it. So, I rolled it up in the bag and kept it in the back of my sweatshirt for the entire third period. Sure it was lumpy, but the marks from the rubber pucks eventually went away.
