So.. the moment you have all been waiting for! The number one game that will rank as number one in my mind and heart. Again, the runners up would have to mention some of the Penguins historical games like Mario's many returns and the games that they won the Stanley Cup on. Other games to mention honorably would be watching the World Cup in 2004 when all the 6 major countries battled it out in a spring tournament series. Team USA vs Slovakia was a good game. The key ingredient to a good game is who I spent the time with and where I sat.
I was able to go to the last home game of the year with the thanks of my "Washington Insider" and sat 3 rows back from the Penguins end of the ice. Little did I know, it would be the last game before the player lockout. I would also get to see my favorite player Milan Kraft score his final NHL goal. Of course, I sat with my grandmother who wanted to experience the hockey game.
THEE Top most memorable game would be sitting 2 rows behind the players bench and seated so close that you could almost reach out and touch the players on the back. I had gone with a girlfriend of mine who was a huge Mario Lemieux fan. She flew up from Louisiana to visit me for the week. She was also a big puckbunny too, unfortunately. She took a lot of photos and scolded me when I tried to take pictures of the ice girls. Of course, this was game 3 of the Battle of Pennsylvania last year where the Penguins rallied strong and won the game 4-3. It also had included a cheap shot punch by one of the dirtiest (wait.. that was redundant.. all Flyers are dirty.) players after the game on Crosby.
